1. (Adult) children do not equate to automatic sick-parent or elder caregivers.
  2. Children are amazing, but for some, they can be too much. And to assume child-free by choice people hate children is narrowminded. I like kids. I just don’t want to birth any of my own. You don’t know us or our reasons. Frankly, many of you don’t care. You just project your own belief that all women should be mothers, else there is something wrong. I don’t chide people for wanting to be parents. It would be nice to get the same margin of respect for my life-choice in return without a lecture or dismissal.
  3. Speaking of dismissal, telling people “You’ll change your mind” suggests you are not taking their decision-making ability seriously. You are discrediting them for simply electing to do something different (not better, not worse) with their lives. You do you. I’ll be over here doing my thing, thanks.
