As a society, we really don’t mind if women suffer, physically or mentally, as long as it makes things easier for men.” — case in point. It seems it is always on the woman to prevent pregnancies; the guy just gets to do his thing without really having to consider what we’re going through in terms of periods, birth control, and the choppy waters of our current puritanical political pools where we are shamed for daring to be on birth control in the first place. Now, I’m generalizing here, but this is based on the experiences of myself and many of my friends (per the accumulation of conversations over the years). And there isn’t the same shame placed upon a man who abandons his pregnant partner as there used to be.
