Did they cite why they thought women should tend to the majority of domestic labor? It can be really frustrating being the one tidying up while everyone else “gets” to go about doing whatever they want. Otherwise, stuff would never get done. I’ve known kids and adults alike walk by a mess as though they are not responsible for it, assuming “someone else” will take care of it. I’ve known guys who come home after work and hop onto their x-boxes while their wives, who also work, come in and start dishes, laundry, making dinners, helping kids with homework, etc. THEN she gets to relax. No amount of explaining to their partner seemed to get him to budge from the controller long enough to help her out because he assumes it is her job. Of course, these are the same guys who use the words “babysit” when talking about their own kids and dare to be shocked when they are eventually served with divorce papers.
