For a very brief time, I worked for a company (that is no longer in business) who conducted things like Care & Shares and Pizza Powwows — back to back day long meets aimed at gearing up the ‘troups’ and ‘sharing our feelings’. These were held once a month — dear lord, no. I only ever attended one of these sessions as I quit shortly after. I was like a Roseanne’s Darlene or Daria in a room full of cheerleaders and jocks. I spent most of that time trying to figure out why in the world we were wasting our time in day-long meetings when there was serious work to be done.
