I certainly thought so when I was in my 20s. I bucked against anything guys considered feminine (as I worked in an industry mostly made up of guys). So in order to “fit in” or be “taken seriously” I often had to be frostier than usual. Now I get that no matter what I did, I was never going to be seen the way I wanted to be seen.
