It’s a sh*tty, passive-aggressive way to get someone to quit if you ask me. Then again, I’ve dated people who were hell-bent on ME breaking up with them. THEY didn’t want to be the bad guy. So instead of just saying, “I don’t think we’re right for each other or I don’t want to date anymore” and going our separate ways, they would go out of their way to make things as miserable as possible until I just could not take it anymore. To date, I’ve never had someone break up with me. I have always been the one to break up with someone. And the older I get, the less I let that crap linger. If I feel I am being mistreated in some way, I SAY something. Better than letting it drag out because the other party can’t nut up enough to “fire” or “break up” or whatever.

I am so sorry you had to endure such an awful situation. I’m glad you are in a better place now.
