Large gatherings and parties just suck the life right out of me over time. I have a certain threshold — at times a forced threshold — where I am delightful and fun (usually business-related gatherings). But after a certain point, when I say, “Ok, I’m ready to go.” That doesn’t mean in 20 minutes, I mean I am ready to go at that very minute because I’ve allowed all of the chatter-boxes to suck out my lifeforce with idle talk about things I have nothing in common with (sports, politics, etc.) and now it is time for me to go home and regroup doing whatever it is I want to do for the next couple of hours w/o having to entertain someone else’s wants and needs.
