Mine too. But I’ve gotten to the point with space and time and I had to go from being a paperback purist to 95% audio books and kindle digital content. I don’t have the room to put them all otherwise. As such, I always have something to read or listen to. I likely have enough books to ferry along with me to the afterlife. That’s the only way I would manage to finish them all. Interestingly, I was not a huge reader growing up. Certainly not from a lack of example or encouragement. My mother is a voracious reader, and now that she is retired she reads and finishes something every other day. I know for a fact she’s reread all of The Outlander series to the point where the books themselves are falling apart, and she regularly complains about how many of her favorite authors are passing away.
It took me a long time to find the focus and energy to read (beyond academics) as often. I work full-time, study (coding), and am about to take on some freelance work on the side, so the only way I can get in my “reading for fun” at the moment is to listen to it. Regardless of the method, I think reading is just as important and healthy to ones overall well-being as exercise.
