Oh I hate that — about as much as I hate it when I go out to eat with someone who plays with their phone the entire time. I went on a date like that once— Match.com nightmare. The guy would ask be a question though and proceed to glance askance at the television nearby as I answered (each and every time). I caught onto this annoying habit pretty quick and went about responding outlandishly in hopes of redirecting his attention. I’m guessing he was simply hoping for a hookup the way he was behaving — get through the arduous task of a meal and the get-to-know me section of the date in order to get to the goods. Nope. I wasn’t having it. As soon as the meal ended, I left, and refused any further requests for another date. I did point out that nasty habit of television watching to him.
