They address this in the book “Stay Sexy and Don’t Get Murdered” in the chapter “F*ck Politeness” where young women will ignore their gut and end up in a situation where they may be taken advantage of or killed. Now, in no way am I victim blaming here. I’m simply stating that when we (myself included) don’t listen to our instincts, more often than not, we’re put in a position where we’re uncomfortable or where something we don’t want does. As someone who has been jaded and seasoned by life (abuse at the hands of family, friends, boyfriends, etc.) I am now a firm believer of knowing if I had just followed my gut, I would have been a much happier and healthier person.
