Some would try to level up in the field they are in; diversify from one type of research to another. But I find it interesting you went into development.
I like what I do. I’ve been doing it for years. But like you, I’ve grown to feel pretty passionless about it. In response, I have been leveling up my skills for the last couple of years. I’m hoping I can collectively use my entire skillset and find a side hustle that brings some enthusiasm back into my daily life.
While I enjoy being knowledgeable about front-end development, I know I’m likely going to be more of a hobbyist than a hardcore developer. The tech skills have been helpful in enhancing my day to day work. Applause to you though for making a dramatic change and finding what makes you happy and fulfilled.
