We're socially programmed to assume all women want to be wives and mothers. When it just isn't the case. Not all men want to be husbands and fathers, right? But they don't get nearly the same judgment. No one dismisses them as being silly when they say they are happy being single. But for women, if we're not foaming at the mouth for a ring there must be something wrong with us. It is an unfair and antiquated stereotype. We have a lot more to offer than just being a wife, but as the article puts it, everything else seems to come second to our singlehood.
