While I appreciate the variety available to people who have different “dietary lifestyles,” the implementation and confusion surrounding the products can be a headache.

Personally, I am low-carb, some days I might verge into Keto, but ultimately my goals are to take in fewer carbs, cut sugar, keep my blood-sugar balance. The pain is sugar is in everything. Worse yet, sugar, like rice maltodextrin is used as a filler in products like Stevia. Stevia is supposed to be a sweetener that does not have an impact on blood sugar. And yet, unless you read each and every label on each and every box you buy and use, manufacturers sneak in these less than desirable ingredients. I can’t go to Starbucks and ask that they put in Stevia because I don’t know what brand they are using unless I ask to see the box it comes in. Trader Joe’s sells their own brand of Stevia in packets, but the first ingredient is the rice maltodextrin which causes your bs to increase 3x as much as regular table sugar. It’s garbage, but they sell it under the label Stevia. I guess Rice Maltodextrin isn’t as pretty on the front of the box.

But I digress, there are so many food fads fueled by misinformation and government pandering that I am exhausted with researching what IS truly healthy.
