Wow. If the company is hosting a party, they can cough up a few bucks and hire a service to watch the attendees respective children. I would be pissed if I was expected to watch a roomful of kids while at a work-related event. THAT is not professional. Nor is it something I feel is appropriate to ask of your employees (regardless of their gender or child status).
