Yup. It can also buy misery. I’m a huge believer that having money can produce happiness. And no, I don’t mean in the sense of avarice, I simply mean the comfort of being able to pay your bills and take care of your loved ones without having to struggle. I grew up struggling; now I struggle less but I know what it feels like to be poor and without and certainly do not want to endure that in my adult years. But I do understand the misery money brings. I have relatives who are essentially lazy and greedy, and have tried to take advantage of those of us who have worked hard from time to time. I have relatives who have faked illnesses in order to get financial help from loved ones. There are going to be some people who will want to take you for granted solely for the resources you can provide.
